Faces of Bali Director: Cathee Mang USA Fall 2021 Cathee Mang is an American national who is originally from New York state. She has been a professor at North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) in Anaheim, California since 2005, where she teaches acting, film and TV acting, readers theatre, and art appreciation to adult ESL (English as a Second Language) students. She is also a director and leads The Anaheim Players, a performance group at NOCCCD. She is a SAG AFTRA member and has acted professionally. Additionally, she is a playwright and screenplay writer and has written numerous scripts for educational theatre in Indonesia and the U.S. She has conducted mask making workshops on the East and West coasts. Presently, she performs bachata and salsa with Rhythmic Fusion Dance Company which is based in Santa Ana, California. Cathee Mang holds an MFA in theatre with a specialization in directing from the University of Hawaii Honolulu, Hawaii. She earned an MA in Southeast Asian Studies from Ohio University. She also studied film for a year at Royal Holloway College, University of London. Cathee recently took a sabbatical in Bali to study mask making, to learn the Queen (Raja Putri) role in topeng panca, to write a short book in collaboration with local artists on making Balinese masks, and to produce a film on topeng panca that will be of value to her students. |

Love is not Love Director: Stephen Keep Mills (Award of Best of Show : Direction) Fall 2021 Stephen Keep Mills (Writer/Director/Actor/Producer) started out as an actor leaving the Yale Drama School in the spring of 1969 to join the Guthrie Theatre and then appearing over the next seventeen years with many regional companies in both the US and Canada. He performed in "The Shadow Box", "Story Theatre" and "Metamorphosis" on Broadway and in several Off-Broadway houses including The Roundabout Theatre and The Public where his performance in Vaclav Havel's "A Private View" earned him a Drama Desk nomination. His television credits include guest-starring roles in over 25 episodic shows and Movies Of The Week, a regular stint on the series "Flo" and a recurring role on the Sci-Fi series "VR-5." In the late 1990's, Mills began directing and producing his own written works on stage, gaining critical notice with "SquareOne" in LA as well as an Ovation Nomination for his adaptation of "A Christmas Carol: The Ghost Story of Christmas" which he directed in collaboration with DeafWest Theatre in American Sign Language. In 2003, he produced and acted in the film of his play "Hotel Lobby", and thereafter cast himself full-time as a filmmaker. He made his directorial debut with the 15-minute film "A Cigar at the Beach" (2005) which screened world-wide in 166 festivals, winning 47 awards. He followed up with another short "LIMINAL" in 2008 that accumulated 84 festival screenings and 30 awards. Mills is a member of Academy Award Winner Bobby Moresco’s Actors’ Gym and is included in Del Weston’s (AOF) Top 100 Indie Filmmakers In The World Part 1. He is mortally coached by the “living” ghost of Stella Adler. “Love is not Love” marks Mills’ first feature as director. |

Velazco took a Certificate Degree in Filmmaking at the International Academy of Film and Television in Cebu, Philippines. He then took several filmmaking job positions in the Philippines for 4 years, both in the government and private sector. In 2014, he started a production company - MAV Film Productions, with which he produced a number of corporate videos and documentaries for the Philippine government, Police, Foundations, and Museums. With years of education and experience in the film industry, Malcolm took a specialised course in Documentary Filmmaking at the Met Filmschool in Berlin, Germany in 2016. Shortly after the course, he went on to film and produce "TCCON Philippines" - a film documentary about the installation of the first Total Carbon Column Observing Network in Southeast Asia. It is a ground-based satellite station that monitors carbon concentrations in the atmosphere in the hope to fully understand the effects of Climate Change. |

craft. Chapman grew up in the Dayton, Ohio area where she spent most of her
first 18 years underwater. When she wasn’t swimming, chances are you

the Bowery Boys . Her father passed on his passion of the movies, while
her grandfather, Papa Bill, taught her how to tell a story. Bernadette
attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, graduated in ’84
with a BS in Radio/TV production. She spent the next seven years in D.C. and Baltimore freelancing in video production and doing a little acting in local theater. In 2006, her dear friend, Larry Holden (Memento, Batman Begins) asked her to produce and act in his indie film, All Sun & Little White Flowers, which starred her daughter, Sadie LeJeuene. After a few years of acting in plays and other indie movies, she decided to take on writing and directing her own films, Lost in Reality and Is That a Real Gun?, which won Best Music at the Mountain of Laughs Film Festival.
